Boxing expresses something about human tenacity and grace under pressure and creates a fascinating interaction between performers and audience.
Inspired by Martin Scorsese's film Raging Bull about the boxer Jake LaMotta, this work comprises a series of prints based on the opening sequence, where LaMotta is shown as a lonely figure limbering up before the fight.
In the storyboard 'A Tremendous Event' and a short animation, the story is told of a famous 1923 fight between Jack Dempsey and Luis Angel Firpo.
